The successful Learning Mentor will support Teachers to ensure that pupils engage more effectively with their learning and help increase levels of achievement through appropriate provision. They will also be required to cover PPA across the academy and work with both individual pupils and small groups. This is a great opportunity to combine mentoring skills whilst working in a supportive environment.

The Nottingham Academy is a multi-site academy with new and refurbished buildings, offering pupils and staff an outstanding learning environment.  Each site is led by a Head of School in conjunction with the Lead Principal, Ged Rae. The most recent Ofsted in November 2015 judged the academy as continuing to be ‘Good’ and commented that despite its increasing size, it feels calm and orderly and has an atmosphere focused on learning.

The ideal candidates will:

  • be able to demonstrate a range of behaviour management strategies
  • be well organised and have high expectations of achievement and behaviour
  • have the ability to engage constructively with and relate to a wide range of young people from different backgrounds
  • possess excellent communication skills, at all levels.

The academy is part of the Greenwood Academies Trust, which offers great development and progression opportunities, an attractive pension scheme and tax efficient childcare vouchers. You will be required to work term time only so this is reflected in the pro-rata’d salary.
